Dr. Kung has undertaken to furnish his views after receipt of a report from Kwangkung Government. Meanwhile His Majesty's Gonsul-General at Canton learns that provincial authorities con-

sider that there is no longer any immediate urgency about the

question owing to decline of imports due to exchange, which

render tax of little financial assistance.
